Well, it's that time...we gave ourself 3 years to take a dive into this business and it's time to re-evaluate. We have to let some of our breeder stock go. For those who know me, you understand how hard this is. I grow attached to every animal that comes into my care and I've never before had to do this.

There are several reasons for this:

1. We just don't have enough time. We keep about 80 breeders and 20 juveniles at any given time plus during some times of the year we could have upwards of 60-80 babies. We both keep full time jobs, try to parent our two sons, plus keep this business going (and a large portion of that is due to the racks). I'm missing out on some of the funnest times I can have with my children because I'm couped up in the snake room.

2. We need to recoup some funds. Most of you know our story. We've been doing this for 12 years. We take a lot of pride in our animals and go to unmatched measures to provide the best animals we can. So after years of proving to ourselves that we can produce animals with success, last year we decided to invest heavily (mostly in ball pythons but also some Kenyan morphs) and it hasn't paid off. We lost a priceless cinammon pastel last year that would have really put us on the map. Before this breeding season we invested in a ghost, albino, and a pastel...we have nothing to show for it. Breeding went well, but from those animals we got only a litter of het ghosts...no pastels, no albinos, no ghosts. We did very well producing some possible hets, but those don't pay the bills when you have as much invested as we had.

3. These animals all have a reason they're on 'the list'. I hate feeding live rats. Some of these snakes are live rat eaters. Some of them eat mice. Some eat only one or two prey items a week when I need them to eat more. Note: I only feed once a week, some of these could put on some major weight if you could feed them 2 or 3 times a week. Some have bad attitudes. Some (like the albino project) have no other reasons for being sold other than to recoup some funds.

I don't consider this a failure and I don't want pity. We're not done by any means. We're only scaling back, cutting the fat, cutting the 'dinking around projects', etc. We're still going to do this, just not on such a grand scale. The animals that we keep will get the attention they deserve and we'll be able to spend some more time with our family, where our focus should be.

For those that aren't familar with us, each of our animals is fully documented with a photo ID and care card and we house every animal individually. The care card will be provided to you upon purchase of all animals.

We will entertain offers but for the most part, these are set prices. These aren't junk animals. These are clean animals that have been (or are being raised to be) breeding stock. Shipping will be done via FedEx Priority Overnight or Delta Dash. Please e-mail with any questions.

Now, on to the animals....click on any of the pictures for larger views.

ISB-F-1 Proven Indian Sand Boa Price: $200
Weight: 700g Eats: Live or P/K large mice
Meals and sheds documented since 11/2003
Her story: We bought this entire trio from Scott Miller, a sand boa breeder in Illinois that we have the upmost respect for. The two females are from 1997 and have both proven. The male is from 1999 and is the one we call 'Corkscrew'. He has a bit of an equilibrium issue. He was checked by a vet and she said it was nothing serious and that he could lead a normal life and breed just fine. This was my first year actually breeding them and unfortunately we didn't produce anything (mostly due to our situation with our animals in a temporary offsite building). Both females will eat live or P/K large mice, the male prefers small mice. These are PRIME breeding stock, both girls are 700g+! The group of 1.2 is being offered for $500.

SSB-F-1 Saharan Sand Boa Female Price: $200
Weight: 540g Eats: Live or P/K large mice
Meals and sheds documented since 11/2003
Her story: We bought this entire group from Jon's Jungle over 2 years ago. These were some of the first ones that were imported into the country. For those that aren't familiar with them, they are one of the rarer sandboas and are a new species just discovered 3 years back. They've been reproduced in captivity only twice and oddly enough, they are EGG LAYERS!!!! Don't mistake these for Kenyans. Although they may look similar, there are many differences (look at the 'hook' on the tail for starters). These, hands down, are some of the fattest and best breeding stock around. They were all treated when I got them and are all great eaters now. They do prefer live but will occasionally take P/K. The males will eat less frequently but both still have very good size. The males eat small mice and the females eat large mice. Unfortunately, this just isn't a project I have a ton of time to put into but for somebody that's interested, this could be a great investment. Group of 2.2 is priced at $600.

ALBP-M-1 2002 Proven Albino Male Price: SOLD
Weight: 850g Eats: Live or F/T small rats
Meals and sheds documented since 9/2004
His story: I'll hate to see any of these snakes go but this one hurts. This is the one that makes me feel like I've been defeated. He's the highlight of my collection. I have a killer ghost and a beautiful pastel that I'll be keeping, but neither compare to 'Al'. As you can expect, this is where a BIG chunk of our funds are wrapped up so I don't have a choice. I got Al from Matt Smijewski who got him directly from NERD (verified through NERD and everything). He was proven for Matt and the guy bred his little heart off this past season, bred all 4 girls I put him with...just didn't get any eggs. This guy is ALL male. He eats in spurts, typically once in the summer and then again in the fall. He's hit or miss on what he wants. He originally wanted rats, sometimes F/T sometimes live...now he prefers live large mice in the dark. They say you don't want your breeders fat though and he's a perfect example. I'm also offering him as part of a project that will include a 100% het albino female, and a 66% het albino female for $5000.

HALBP-F-1 66% Het Albino Female Price: SOLD
Weight: 1475g Eats: Live or P/K large mice
Meals and sheds documented since 2/2004
Her story: I actually had this girl before I had Al and had planned on breeding her to my het albino male before the albino came along. We purchased her from Jared Hupenbecker along with a few other snakes. She went through a textbook breeding season this year except like the others, she never threw eggs. She has yet to go back on feed. She was almost 1800g at her peak. Her major downside is that she's a mouser. When she was eating, she'd put 2-4 down a sitting though so she was gaining weight quite rapidly and if somebody had the ability to do that twice a week it'd be even better. This girl is available as a package with the albino male and the 100% het albino female below for $5000.

HALBP-F-2 100% Het Albino Female Price: SOLD
Weight: 1500g Eats: Live or P/K large mice
Meals and sheds documented since 2/2004
Her story: This girl was our first investment we made after knowing we had Al coming. We purchased her from Will Carrasquillo who got her from Rare Earth Reptiles. Invoices and paperwork is available. It took her about 3-4 weeks to finally settle in and start eating but she was pounding down large mice, 2-3 week. According to Will, she was a F/T rat eater but I have yet to see her take a rat. Just like HALBP-F-1 above, she went off feed and did the 'breeding thing' just like she should have but I never saw any eggs. She has yet to go back on feed (although she did just shed yesterday, I suppose it's POSSIBLE that I could be in for a late clutch but I wouldn't get my hopes up). This girl is available as a package with the albino male and the 66% possible het albino female above for $5000.

RS-F-5 Proven Roughscale Sand Boa Price: SOLD
Weight: 772g Eats: Live or P/K large mice
Meals and sheds documented since 11/2003
Her story: Both of these girls are from 1997 and proven breeders. They both came from Scott Miller, a very respected sand boa breeder. They both prefer live large mice but usually do take P/K if offered. Both are VERY gentle which is pretty untypical for adult roughscales. I use RS-F-5 for shows quite frequently and she's an absolute horse. The pair is $350.

RS-F-6 Roughscale Sand Boa Price: SOLD
Weight: 550g Eats: Live or P/K large mice
Meals and sheds documented since 11/2003

SSB-M-2 Saharan Sand Boa Male Price: $150

SFRB-F-3 San Felipe Rosy Boa Female Price: $200
Weight: 360g Eats: Live or P/K small mice
Meals and sheds documented since 2/2004
Her story: We picked this girl up at a reptile show we were setup at and had total intentions of using her as a breeder. It's very rare to find rosies so we picked her up without knowing her history. She has fattened up and matured quite nicely but she has one problem...she's still on small mice. Every time I try to give her large mouse, she'll eat it, then regurge it a few days later. I've found that she'll keep two small mice down but not 3. That said, she'll be definitely be large enough to breed next year (she's large enough now) but I'm afraid that it will take her two years to recover eating that way (my other adult females will eat 2 large mice almost every week when not in brumation or gravid).

All of the ball pythons below have been sold. Sorry!

BP-F-1 2003 Hand-picked CH Female SOLD
Weight: 1850g Eats: Live or P/K large mice
Meals and sheds documented since 6/2003
Her story: I hand-picked this girl from a bunch of CH babies in '03. As her number implies, she was the first of my breeding stock. She will eat 2-3 large live or P/K mice a week. I had her on rats for a short time but after coming off-feed this year (although I didn't cool her, she decided to go off-feed on her own) she's only been taking mice. She's gentle and should make a great breeder this upcoming year.

BP-F-3 2002 CB Female from NERD SOLD
Weight: 2800g Eats: Live or P/K medium rats
Meals and sheds documented since 7/2003
Her story: We picked this girl up as a baby from NERD. She was a rat-eating monster until breeding season this year and she stopped. She bred our het caramel male and she looked like she was going to go but nothing. She's still off-feed but I think she's about ready to come around again. Still has great weight on her, she was above 3100g before breeding season. Now the one thing about her is that we call her Fakalla which is African for 'crooked leg'. If you look close, she has a slightly dented in spine about 8 inches from her tail. She has the girth now that it shouldn't cause any problems breeding but did want to make that known.

BP-F-9 2003 Captive Hatched Female SOLD
Weight: 1350g Eats: Live small/medium rats
Meals and sheds documented since 5/2003
Her story: This girl took an extra long break this winter (I didn't cool her at all, knew she wasn't big enough to breed) but she's been pounding rats the past 6+ weeks. She'll usually take 2 a week and could easily be 1600g - 1800g before this coming breeding season.

BP-F-14 2003 Captive Hatched Female SOLD
Weight: 1850g Eats: Live large or P/K mice
Meals and sheds documented since 5/2003
Her story: This girl has amazing color, even brighter than the picture shows. Her only problem is that she's a mouser. She'll eat 4-6 large mice a week but I have been unsuccessful in moving her over to rats. Regardless, she's got great size and is ready for breeding now.

BP-F-17 2003 CB Female from Snakekeeper SOLD
Weight: 1650g Eats: Live small or medium rats
Meals and sheds documented since 10/2003
Her story: The girl is in shed above, she's almost as bright as #14 above. We acquired her from Jared Hupenbecker who got her from Snakekeeper. She was an eating machine but went off-feed during breeding season this year. We bred her to our het caramel male but nothing. Unfortunately, she's still off-feed but should come around shortly.

BP-F-18 Long-Term Captive Female SOLD
Weight: 2450g Eats: Livel or P/K large mice
Meals and sheds documented since 10/2003
Her story: I acquired this girl the way I did most of my great breeders. I got a phone call from my local petshop and they had "another one for me". I went down to the shop to find a 500g underfed female that was probably 2 years old (which would make her about a 2001 or early 2002). Supposedly the family didn't have time to feed her and they said she was "too aggressive". She was dog tame but did need to eat. She ate for me that night and hasn't stopped since. Her only problem? She's a mouser. She took rats for a small while but she eats mice now. She'll eat 3-4 a week though. For those that said a girl can't put weight on eating mice, here's your proof that your theory is wrong. She's WELL ready to breed this year.

BP-F-23 Proven Long-Term Captive Female SOLD
Weight: 1900g Eats: Live or P/K large mice
Meals and sheds documented since 7/2003
Her story: I don't know this girl's history. Best guess is that she was a CH somewhere around 2001. We got her in 2003 and she was a rat eater until breeding season. She'd never take more than 1 or 2 rats a week but she was up 2800g prior to breeding season this year. She had 8 perfect eggs this year (our first clutch). Since then, she refuses to eat rats and will only eat 1-2 large mice when we feed her. If you have the ability to feed multiple times a week, this is a wise investment. We can only feed one night a week and only eating 1-2 large mice a week isn't going to get her closer to her original breeding weight.

BP-F-25 Proven Long-Term Captive Female SOLD
Weight: 2450g Eats: Live small or medium rats
Meals and sheds documented since 10/2003
Her story: I don't know this girl's history. We got her when we got #23. Best guess is that she was also from 2001. She's been a consistent eater other than going off-feed this year for a few months. She bred our het albino male last year and gave us 7 good eggs. She took this year off but is back to eating 2 rats a week. Her only downside...she'll only take live rats (other than a small stint last year where she took F/T right after having her eggs). Needless to say she's all ready for this coming year.

BP-F-26 Long-Term Captive Female SOLD
Weight: 1250g Eats: Live small or medium rats
Meals and sheds documented since 8/2004
Her story: This was a pet shop acquisition. She was up to about 1400g before breeding season but although I put her in rack that didn't cycle, she decided she wanted to cycle herself. She's been eating now for about 6 weeks, typically two rats a week. Again, the only downside is that she'll only take live ones. Her 1250g weight won't hold out much long, she should be 1600g+ by December.

BP-F-28 Long-Term Captive Female SOLD
Weight: 2275g Eats: Live small or medium rats
Meals and sheds documented since 9/2004
Her story: I acquired this female during the same transaction that got me my albino. Suppposedly she's a CB animal (and I have no reason to doubt it), I'd say a 2001. She's always eating consistently and is on small or medium rats at the moment, typically two a week. Downside? You guessed it, live only. This girl is thick though. We bred her to that albino this year but got nothing.

BP-F-29 Long-Term Captive Female SOLD
Weight: 2650g Eats: Live small or medium rats
Meals and sheds documented since 9/2004
Her story: I also acquired this female during the same transaction that got me my albino. Same story as above except that I doubt she was a CB animal...she may have been CH but that had to have been at least 4 years ago. She's a monster now. We bred her to that albino this year but got nothing. She went off-feed for several months (she was over 3000g at her peak) but picked back up 3-4 weeks ago and is now eating at least one rat a week. This is a girl that could benefit from getting fed multiple times a week.

BP-F-30 Long-Term Captive Female SOLD
Weight: 1150g Eats: Live large mice
Meals and sheds documented since 9/2004
Her story: I also acquired this female during the same transaction that got me my albino. She was also said to be a CB animal and I have no reason to doubt it. She also put herself off-feed this year although I didn't cool her but unlike the others, this girl hasn't gone back on-feed yet. She was over 1500g at her peak. I haven't spent a lot of time with her but I have offered her P/K and live rats and mice to no avail. She's priced accordingly.

BP-F-32 Proven Long-Term Captive Female SOLD
Weight: 1850g Eats: Live small or medium rats
Meals and sheds documented since 10/2003
Her story: Similar story as above. I don't know her long-term history. We got her in '03 and she as at least a few years old then. She's always been a consistent eater although she'll usually only take 2 a week. She bred our ghost this year and produced 5good eggs and 1 slug. She waited two weeks then went straight back to feeding. She'll be back to her 2200g+ breeding weight again in no time. Her only downfall is that she also eats only live rats. She really likes the dark, when she's exposed, she just kind of tucks her head (like both pictures show) but as soon as you drop a rat in her cage and shut it...THUD! I'm sure she'll improve on her clutch size next year as well (although 5 eggs is nothing to be ashamed of for a virgin).
